Sponge cake,

It is good to be back at home with my family here in Estonia. Since I love to bake and home in Sweden, we have not very often visitors, whom I could bake. Here, family likes it when I am baking and eats it up.
Today I made one juicy sponge cake.  Here comes recipe.

Ingredients:

4 egg
4 dl. caster sugar
5 dl. wheat flour
2 teasp. baking powder
250 gr. butter
2 lemon
0,5 dl. water

Whip up eggs and caster sugar to strong foam. Mix flour with baking powder and add it to egg foam. Mix it all together. Melt butter around 90 seconds in microwave oven and  mix all together. Grate the zest of lemons and add to the dough as well as lemon juice from both lemons and mix it last time.
Put the dough in greased mold and in to the oven in 175 degrees for at least for 40 minutes or more. Deppends on mold and amount of dough.
Serve it with cold ice-cream, sorbet or just how you want. I can say that my family liked it and it tasted good.

My new cup for tea,

Last summer in July, when I visited Estonia last time, I went one evening together with my aunt in local ceramics course. The evenings theme was how to make a cup. It was interesting, since it was first time for me to do something with clay since my elementary school. Still, it is different from that time and last summer.
Today I got to see my cup personally, since my aunt and me talked that it is too sensitive to send it with post. We know how the things are thrown and I did not want to loose my first own made cup. So I had to wait until I came to Estonia or someone from family came to Sweden. Today I got my cup and I am so happy over it. It looks perfect and nice and most of all, my own made. Made by me and for enjoy my tea on it.
Text on the cup says: " Careful, this cup bites " and other text is: " Owned by Innu "

My present,

My fine present from Kahls The and Kaffehandel City Jönköping

In the beginning of June one of the companies had a small facebook competition. It lasted until 20th of june. The rules for the competition was that you had to like their facebook page and share the picture of the present you could win and write that shared and liked. I did it.
Yesterday that coffe and the company announced the winner and what a surprise. It was my name I saw :) I can say that I was very very happy over that, since I have started more and more drink tea and less coffee. I think changes started after my university studies in Estonia since I felt that I have drink way too much coffee.
Today, lucky me went to the Kahls The and Kaffehandel City Jönköping and got my present. I won a travel cup with lock, strainer for tea, travellock, jar and tea. Whole set for at enjoy a good cup of tea at home or just to take with me. After I had got my present, when my husband told me, that now I have to wait, he wants to take a picture of me, since I was way too happy according to him :D

Interesting part is, that the cup had the most perfect pattern on. I have start to love magnolia flowers.  That love came, when I was together with my newlywed husband in our honeymoon in Kalmar. At the hotel we stayed had several magnolia trees and they had so beautiful flowers and no leaves yet. Since that, I have liked magnolias and that's why I feel that I got the most perfect surprise by winning this competition. I must say that I am also very thankful over it. On Saturday morning I will also try it on the road to Gothenburg, when I will take a car to airport.

Swedish midsummer,

For this year is celebration of midsummer over in Sweden. It has been nice weekend with friends and family. Also this year, as other years, I have tried to combined midsummer traditions from Estonia and from Sweden.
This years lunch was traditional Swedish midsummer lunch with new fresh potatoes, creme fraiche, herring and midsummer shot. We also had good egg halves with shrimps. Tasted good. Also as one Swedish tradition is, when I had made strawberry cake. No one have never explained me, why this is a tradition but I still liked to make something good.
In evening it was time to have bit Estonian traditions. Marinated shashlik and fresh potato salad was exactly what we needed and after that we just enjoyed the good time with talk and so. I also could light a fire, what is another tradition from Estonia. It is one of the thing, what is must in midsummer in Estonia and since I have grown up with those traditions and I love the living fire. It gives so good feeling and lets to forget all the things what makes trouble in the brain and I just can enjoy the fire. 
In this year, I wished that I could spend midsummer in Estonia, but not surprisingly, I cannot do it. Not much of my plans have went as I would have wished during this year.  It would had been nice to have a traditional midsummer with friends and family in Estonia, but hopefully another time I can have it. 
This midsummer was good another ways for me and that I have written in my other blog entries. This year I could celebrate midsummer with friends and family here and that was also good. On Saturday we had quiet day at home. Drove one friend home and got visit another friend. Else we just enjoyed day together with my husband and booked my flight to home to Estonia,  so that I can see my family and to talk in Estonian language again. 

This year we had that kind of traditions. Will see, what next year has with it and how the midsummer will be then.
