Pickled herring,


Today I tried to make something else for Tommy's birthday on Saturday. Since I know, that he likes herring and I also know that I am very picky with herring what is sale here in Sweden, so, I fixed self herring and marinade for herring. Since I had tried it once before for a bit time ago, when I thought, that it is not that hard, so I will fix it.


So here are ingredients what I used for herring:

3 dl water
1 dl 12% vinegar
3 dl sugar
4 laurel leaf
3,5 teaspoon allspice pepper
2 teaspoon white pepper
a little bit salt
12 clove
3 yellow onion
1 leek


Take one casserole. Put in water, vinegar, sugar, laurel leafs,  peppers, clove and salt. Mix it and let it to boil a little. After that you need to cool it down before you can put it in the top of herring, leek and onion.
When the marinade is cooled down. Take a onion and leek and slice them. Also take herring and make a slices. Put them all in jar with a lock and add the marinade. After that mix bit all and close it with lock and let it stay in fridge next 2-3 days and when they are ready to eat.
